The shortlist has been announced for this year’s Booker Prize, one of the most prestigious literary honors in the world. Established in England in 1969, the foundation names the best book written in the English language and published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. But it’s not just the winner who draws attention: The prize’s shortlist, or finalists, are also treated with much fanfare. This year, the shortlist of six titles includes authors from five different countries, along with the oldest author and the shortest book ever to make the list.
