Named after pioneering sci-fi writer Hugo Gernsback and nominated by members of the annual World Science Fiction Convention, the Hugo Awards are meant to celebrate the best in speculative fiction. The winners for this year’s awards were presented on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the 81st World Science Fiction Convention in Chengdu, China. We’ve put together a list of this year’s finalists and winners in the Best Novel and Best Novella categories, as well as the Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book.
