We're looking to expand our team to launch new consumer-facing book discovery features, marketing tools for authors and publishers, and other web and mobile products that address the digital transformation of the publishing industry. About the position

BookBub is seeking a savvy wordsmith to help with consumer-facing content creation and distribution. Candidates must be creative thinkers with a knack for writing and editing, keen marketing instincts, and an appetite for social media. We are looking for a candidate with somewhere between 0-2 years experience. Our ideal start date for this position is late February 2019. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Brainstorm, copy edit, and produce articles on a wide range of topics for our consumer-facing content strategy
  • Manage the editorial calendar and delegate articles to our team of freelance writers, including communicating and hitting deadlines
  • Assist in the management of BookBub’s social communities by distributing content across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram
  • Optimize and update content for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) purposes
  • Track and analyze the performance of content to help grow our member base and drive engagement
  • Run creative and social campaigns that target a wide array of personas and demographics

Ideal candidates for this position will have:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as an ability to write in many styles, tones, and voices
  • The ability to multitask and be highly detail-oriented and deadline-driven
  • Excitement for a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment where work can get chaotic and be required at off hours (occasional nights and weekend work)
  • A passion for reading and books
  • Familiarity with the book media landscape a plus
  • Wordpress, social media, and/or SEO experience a plus
